Browse Efficiently on Android

It’s been a while since I blogged about mobile apps. For the past few months I’ve been using an app, which helps me efficiently browse links from search, social media, blogs, news, etc.

When browsing in Desktops, if we want to view links in separate browser window, we can either right-click on the link and select to open it in new tabs or windows OR press CTRL key and click on the link to open it in a new tab. When browsing in Mobiles, you can press the link longer to view a list of options to open it in separate tabs or windows. Of lately, I don’t get these options in Android. It is a pain to go back to the search results to view other links on the mobile. I think in iPhones this still works.

For the foodie in you…

There are people who take pride in calling themselves as ‘foodie’. Of course, I am one of them. But, of late I have had a change of opinion. I have come to believe that there is a foodie in each one of us. Every person has their own favorite dishes, restaurants, recipes, cooking methods etc. In that sense, everyone has got a ‘food lover’ in them.

Do you feel bored at eating out at the same places or you don’t know which restaurants are popular in your locality? Have you moved to a new city and wondered where to eat or which cuisines are popular there? Or do you want to know how good the new restaurant in your area is?

I Love My Pocket

I spend a lot of time reading news, articles, blogs, recipes, and much more on the Internet. Very often I end up bookmarking the web links for reading later. In this way, I have collected thousands of links neatly categorized in the browser favorites.

The problem is I need Internet to view those bookmarked links later. Sometimes, few links are broken and I get to view the ‘Page Not Found’ error. Additionally, most of those web pages contain advertisements, promotions, tag clouds, and others that make reading online such an eyesore. I have tried saving those web pages as HTML files on my desktop, but I don’t think that’s a good idea.

Mobile Apps for Chennai Suburban and MRTS Trains

I love traveling by train, but I have never been a frequent traveler on the Chennai Suburban and Mass Rapid Transport System (MRTS) trains. I have used the suburban trains occasionally and the MRTS very rarely. However, I have fond memories of traveling in suburban trains during childhood to my aunt’s house in Thirunenravur. I have traveled on the Chennai Central-Sulurpet route couple of times during my first job. That train crosses a backwater near Minjur. It was so lovely to see fishermen in their boats during sunrise and sunset there. The reflections of the lights at a factory near the backwater were beautiful at night.
