I Love My Pocket

Standard

I spend a lot of time reading news, articles, blogs, recipes, and much more on the Internet. Very often I end up bookmarking the web links for reading later. In this way, I have collected thousands of links neatly categorized in the browser favorites.

The problem is I need Internet to view those bookmarked links later. Sometimes, few links are broken and I get to view the ‘Page Not Found’ error. Additionally, most of those web pages contain advertisements, promotions, tag clouds, and others that make reading online such an eyesore. I have tried saving those web pages as HTML files on my desktop, but I don’t think that’s a good idea.

Mobile Apps for Chennai Suburban and MRTS Trains

Standard

I love traveling by train, but I have never been a frequent traveler on the Chennai Suburban and Mass Rapid Transport System (MRTS) trains. I have used the suburban trains occasionally and the MRTS very rarely. However, I have fond memories of traveling in suburban trains during childhood to my aunt’s house in Thirunenravur. I have traveled on the Chennai Central-Sulurpet route couple of times during my first job. That train crosses a backwater near Minjur. Nostalgic Samosa

Standard

I lived in North Madras when I was a kid. My late grandpa used to visit us whenever he came to the city. In those years the inter-city bus terminus was opposite to Madras High Court in North Madras. I liked those samosas so much that I always used to look forward to eating it whenever I came to know that grandpa is to visit us. On one visit my grandpa took me to that snack shop. My mouthwatering started immediately on seeing those samosas.

Yesterday, I got a chance to crawl that I can never forget. It happened at the Kailasanathar temple at my native, Kanchipuram. People who have visited this temple might understand the crawl I am talking about.

Tickling My Funny Bone

Standard

This Calvin and Hobbes comic strip left me laughing wholeheartedly.

Calvin and Hobbes Comic Strip, March 08, 2014 on GoComics.com.

This comic strip came in The Hindu on 8 March, couple of days after I started blogging. I thought this was perfect timing. I mean, I couldn’t avoid thinking myself in Calvin’s position. The reaction of Hobbes on hearing what Calvin was writing is priceless!

Just thought of sharing…

Ah! My First Post!

Standard

For the past couple of years, I have been thinking of blogging. I have spent countless hours reading tips on blogging, domain names, hosting etc. However, I didn’t plunge into blog writing till today.

As the popular Chinese saying goes, “A journey of thousand miles begins with a single step”, my blog journey begins with this first, short, and sweet post!
